Solomon Telekom adds international diversity with a new satellite internet service

Honiara, 21 December, 2004 - Solomon Telekom Company Limited today signed a 2 year contract with Pacific Teleports to provide international internet backbone access for the people of the Solomon Islands.

Commenting on the contract signing, Mark Flynn, Manager Information Systems (Internet Services), Solomon Telekom Company Limited said that the Pacific Teleports solution adds more diversity to the countrys internet services and facilitates the rollout of our new ADSL service.

This solution will benefit broadband internet users in the Solomon Islands by providing a direct connection to the international internet backbone via the Newskies NSS-5 satellite, said Mr Flynn.
The companys flexibility and willingness to listen to our unique requirements made Pacific Teleports the ideal choice for this project.
