PITA is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and  talented individual for the position of Administrative Assistant & Coordinator, at the Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA)

Being Part of the Dynamic Regional Team

PITA is a non-profit regional telecommunications organisation to facilitate for the needs of its members as resolved at its various meetings, undertake and participate in regional projects, coordinate technical & policy meetings, capacity development programs and represent the interests of the small islands and developing states of the Pacific. Its aims are to promote and facilitate for the development of telecommunications and ICT in the region.

Key Responsibilities
This position is to be based at its Suva & USP Office in Fiji. Reporting to the PITA Manager the main function will be to assist the PITA Manager in management of PITA Secretariat, and in administering and coordination of PITA programs

Daily work include clerical & secretariat duties, coordination of support tasks such as preparing information and organising essential  requirements  and  logistics  for  meetings  and  travel,  assisting and follow through with members and resources, updating & reconciliation of general accounts such as payables, receivables, and preparing/collating of PITA data and information including maintaining key databases. The work will require undertaking other related tasks as assigned by the PITA Manager. Travel and after hours work may be required.

To be successful in the role, you must have the following:

  • Excellent communication abilities (verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Proven organisations skills with clerical & book keeping knowledge
  • A  good  understanding  of  the  secretariat  duties,  meeting  essentials  and event logistics
  • Computer proficiency with Spreadsheets & Documentations, communication & web applications

Your ability to work meticoulsy and dilligently with data and information are essential. Pleasant personality, excellent services attitude, innovative and multi-tasking talents are also essential as this work will require range of tasks from tediouis, repetitive clerical and secretariat tasks, to organising, coordinating and following through for resources and logictics, to interacting and communications with members and key personnel from regional, international and partner organisations, including suppliers.

An attractive remuneration package will commensurate with the  skills, experience  and qualifications of  the successful applicant with a salary range of F$17,000  F$19,500. A full description of the position is available by clicking here
