Number hijacking issues gets endorsed to WTSA 2008.........posted 20Aug08

The issue of number hijacking where calls to Pacific Is countries were intercepted and diverted on a fraudulent nature is now to be taken up to the World Telecommunication Standardisation Assembly (WTSA)

In all cases, the Pacific Is country are unaware that calls to their countries were hijacked and have become victims of the repercussions from countries who started to block calls to avoid their calls hijacked, all these while nothing is being done to stop the fraudulent parties involved in the hijacking..

This is a growing problem and the support by the ASIA PACIFIC TELECOMMUNITY members to have this issue taken up to the WTSA  is a step closer for international actions
to stop the fraudulent parties.

PITA and the Pacific Is countries will further seek the support of other international organisations for a strong resolution for the appropriate actions at the WTSA 2008, scheduled for October in South Africa.
