A cooperation agreement has been signed between Telecom Fiji and Solomon Telekom, led by the CEOs of both organisations, to begin a study attachment program for Solomon Telekom engineers. This reflects how the regular PITA forums provide a practical platform for Members to connect, discuss needs, and progress real cooperation activities.

With such technical cooperation arrangements, members can either send their staff to another Member for on-the-job learning, or receive visiting experts when technical assistance is needed. It is a direct, and very effective practical way of helping each other solve unique problems, implement new systems, and bridge knowledge gaps. This is sharing successes within Member networks, and in doing so, it provides additional effective means of raising the level of capability across the Pacific. Under the TCDC program, PITA support such technical cooperation with return airfares for the exchange.
