Christina Lasaqa Elected as Vice President of PITA at the 29th AGM in Honiara

Honiara, Solomon Islands — Christina Lasaqa, CEO of Solomon Telekom Company Limited (Our Telekom), has been elected Vice President of the Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA) during its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held from April 29 to May 2, 2025. The event, hosted by Our Telekom, brought together regional telecom leaders under the theme “Digital Nations in the Smart Blue Continent: Strengthening Digital Sovereignty and Connectivity for a Resilient Pacific Future.”

Lasaqa’s appointment marks a significant milestone in regional leadership and collaboration. As the first local female CEO of Our Telekom, appointed in December 2021, she has been instrumental in advancing digital transformation and expanding connectivity across the Solomon Islands. Her election to the PITA Executive further underscores her commitment to strengthening telecommunications and digital inclusion in the Pacific region.

In her acceptance remarks, Lasaqa thanked the PITA members for their trust and support:
